A Gratitude Attitude

I realize that title is not original, but I feel such gratitude this morning. I got a good night's sleep with a quiet sleeper, got some food in my belly last night, and there were no interruptions by nurses to take vitals during the night. Life is great!

We are so extremely grateful for a wise and well schooled surgeon who carefully considered options and researched potential outcomes before proceeding with surgery. We realize that we could be heading for OBX next week and, if this had not been caught, the infection could have had 3 weeks run in my body with potentially very dangerous consequences. Though we would love to have been on the beach, we are grateful that it was caught at this point.

We see the Lord's hand in this result and still know that He is in contol of what needs to happen. We but need to trust Him and follow His path as we are lead through this journey of life experience. We have learned so much about ourselves, our wonderful children and friends during the last 2 months. We pray that we continue to have the faith and courage to walk in His paths. Prayers of gratitude are appropriately offered for His guidance this past week. We also are so very grateful for each of you who diligently wade through this blog each day and offer loving support with your comments, thoughts, and prayers.

  1. I do not consider this wading. It is very strengthening for me to read this blog daily and to experience the faith that the two of you have. It is so wonderful that you can remain so positive even though you have had set backs. You are doing everything right from eating to thankfulness.

  2. I agree. It is NEVER a chore to read your blog. On the contrary, it is a blessing and very uplifting. I am extremely grateful to read it every day and see in print what I already realize about both of you. You're absolutely fabulous, caring, nurturing, spiritual, kind (plus any other positive adjectives) friends who have so much to offer! You've made a difference to countless others. Thank you for doing this.

  4. I keep trying to post a note to you, but somehow I must be doing it wrong! I hope it works this time. I keep up with you by reading this wonderful, faith inspiring, positive blog. Thank you for that, for your love for and faith in the Lord. Lou and I keep both of you in our daily prayers. We often see some people from Muncie stake and then we get first hand reports on how each of you are doing...so watch out, you can't hide from us. :-)
    Love you guys,
    Lou and Bev Merrill

  6. Nancy & Mike,
Call reading your blog wading through or call it finding peace and understanding of the journey you are on. We all are finding strength from what you share with us everyday. We know that somedays are very scary, but that is true of any day that puts us on a road we have yet to travel. Your faith and gratitude attitude is contagious...stay strong and the bumps will be few.
    love,
    Barb
