Sleeping Peacefully

We just left the hospital. Dad is sleeping and we took the chance to come home and get some rest ourselves. It was a long day, but the surgery went well. They got all of the tumor that they could see, but he will still need to go through treatments. We are far from finished with this challange, and still need your prayers. We are waiting to hear what the pathology report says before we know what is next on our journey. Thank you so much for all of your support. Things will be brighter in the morning.

  4. We are very glad that the surgery went well. I was at work today at Open Door/BMH Health Center and several employees were talking about Mike being the architect for the Open Door project. They were so concerned and had such kind and wonderful things to say about Mike and how lovingly he speaks about you all as his children, wife and grandchildren and family. They are so impressed with meeting Mike and his love for church, family and community. They fondly remember from a trip they took with him to look at another community health center in February, that he loves to eat "Ding Dong"cakes. :)
You all have been in our prayers hourly.

  5. Nancy, Mike and family,
So glad to hear step one went so well, hoping the next steps of the journey put Mike's health back to better than good. Have had you in my thoughts and prayers all day. Talked to Jane & Bill this morning, just to make sure they too were doing okay. Glad the kids were all with you today...family is always good to see us through.
    Love to all,
    Barb

So glad to hear that Mike's surgery went well. What a blessing to be with a good neurosurgeon. Words are inadequate to express our fondness for you both, and our appreciation for your friendship over the years. Mike, Ken speaks highly of your visit with him at the hospital not long ago. He enjoys your company. I know he wants to spend time with you again soon. We hope to visit when you're feeling up to it. Warmest regards, Kim, Ken and family

p.s.--Nancy, did the neurosurgeon change Mike's accent while he was in there?--you know, give him a nice southern accent or something? :) Did you know you could request an accent change? (British would be nice...or French) Just let us know so we'll be mentally prepared before we visit. :)

  13. Mike, Nancy and Family,
Thank you for sharing your poignant experience. Although we are not personally acquainted, I am deeply touched by your courage. Reading your brave posts and the encouraging comments of your friends, it becomes apparent that you are all sufficiently faithful to get you through this difficult ordeal and on to the next phase of your progression, whatever the Lord wills that to be.

Difficult trials, faithful/covenant stewards, supportive friends, personal revelation, and an infinite atonement, it is all complete. Regardless of the physical outcome, your stage is set for the Lord to work the real miracle in this circumstance: personal refinement, enhanced appreciation for life’s purpose, and specifically, a recognition of His hand in your life’s plan.

The Lord knows our pain, and in His infinite love, I believe He will always compensate our faithful endurance of suffering with offsetting blessings. The degree of ordeal that you all presently face cannot help but engender humility sufficient to allow a vision, if only for a moment, of eternity. Perhaps most vital and desirable of all blessings thereon predicated, is an ultimate personal understanding of immortality and eternal life. How valuable and motivating a possession is that?

Thank you for your example of gallant faith and endurance. We will add our prayers to the others for your peace and well being.
