Field trips, phone calls, etc...

What an amazingly good day we had today. Even though Mike was up most of the night, he took some great naps today. He has had some pretty bad eye strain type headaches and today with ice and minor pain meds we got that under control. After a shower, Mike wanted to walk outside for a bit. We walked around our entire yard and admired the great work that our dear friends did yesterday. Ty came in the early afternoon and Mike decided he wanted to go see some of his friends at Life Stream. The little field trip left him tired but happy. He continues to make phone calls and LOVES receiving them. Feel free to call him on his cell phone and he will talk your ear off. I did ban him from the computer today due to the eye strain. His time there will be limited tomorrow as well. He really is enjoying this blog and loves to read the comments.

We feel so much gratitude and humility for all of your support. We KNOW that there is great power in prayer. We are going to continue to love our lives together being positive and happy.

  1. Hello all,
Glad to hear that Mike is doing so well. I had no idea that his progress would be so remarkable, and would happen so quickly. I'm glad to hear that you guys got outside some today. It was a beautiful day & if you can't enjoy the beauty what can you do? Just think...this time last week you were worrying about the outcome of a difficult surgery & this week that is behind you. We will all keep sending as much positive energy your way as we can and hope that your body continues to heal to prepare for the treatments that will come in the future. Keep up the good work...can't wait to hear about your ongoing progress and journey.
    Best from,

  2. I was gone most of the day today, and so was anxious to get home to catch up on all the happenings at the Ellis household. My goodness! Things are not dull over there! Haircuts, late nights, phone calls, visitors, reports to get out, yards to inspect, naps to take and blogs to update!!!!
We are so grateful for you (Mike) being able to be home to recuperate and rest. Also aren't you lucky to have such excellent nursing care?
By the way, love your bald look. Would you like me to send you some of SLJs wipes to keep the shine off?
Good luck with all this upheaval. We are praying for you all the time. love, Jill and Steve

  3. Dear Mike and Nancy and Family,
What a treat to read each day how you well are progessing with your challenges. Visiting LifeStream, checking out the neighborhood -- you are letting any grass grow under your feet, Mike! Take it easy on Nancy today!
Mom says hello and is trying to post a blog when she figures out how to do it! With hugs and love to you both,

  4. Scott was disappointed to have missed you on your surprise visit to Lifetouch yesterday. We are amazed at your strength and all that you are able to accomplish even during recovery from surgery. Our thoughts and prayers continue to be with you.

  5. I understand what you all are going through. Friends and prayer are what got Dale and I through the initial trauma of this diagnosis 2 years ago. My husband is a 2 year surviver of this scary disease and is doing incredibly well. We live with the on going chemotherapy, the side efects are minor and pray a cure will be discovered. Meanwhile, life is good and we are very appreciative of all the support and prayers and good medical care. Let me know if we can do anything to help. Nancy Umbach, numbach@comcast.net
