We met with the doctor this a.m. We have decided to go ahead with the radiation treatment. Mike will have an outpatient type surgery on Tuesday to have some gold markers placed in his skull. He should be out of the hospital after a few hours of observation. Probably within the week he will recieve a dose of radiation that will be 25x the amount of radiation he had in one treatment. That radiation will specifically target the two tumors. The radiation is a one shot deal. The side effects of this are minimal compared to another radical surgery. Surgery in fact is not an option since both tumors cannot be taken out. We are hopeful that this treatment will help Mike's well being. Mike and I both need a good night's sleep tonight and everything will look better in the morning.

  1. Nancy and Mike,
May you have that good night's rest so the peace and comfort follow. Thanks for taking time to let us all know what you found out today.
    love to all,

  2. Nanc and Mike,
    Everything will be alright.
    Hugs and kisses,

  3. Oh how we are praying for the Ellis family.

Thank you so much for taking the time to do these updates.

    Love to you all.

  4. Mike and Nancy,
We were sleepless last night, thinking and praying for you both. This scripture came to mind and I wanted to share Our Savior's love for you(though through your blog, you are teaching us...thank you :)
"And he shall go forth, suffering pains and afflictions...of every kind: and this that the word might be fulfilled which saith he will take upon him the pains and the sicknesses of the people...and he will take upon him their infirmities, that his bowels may befilled with mercy, according to the flesh, that he may know according to the flesh how to succor his people according to their infirmities. (Alma 7:11,12)
Next,I thought of the children's hymn "I feel my Savior's Love, It's gentleness enfolds me. And when I kneel to pray, my heart is filled with peace. He knows I will follow him, Give all my life to him. I feel my Savior's love, The love He freely gives me."
~May you feel peace and love tonight,
Much love, John and Lori Ann

  5. I pray for your relief Mike. Tonight in a meeting I was at, someone was puzzling how he could do all he is supposed to do, and someone quoted you... they said you said, "just pull the big weeds". Your simple, but wise advice is sure to help someone deal with a life too full. I pray you will rest well until the big exposure next week. Good night.

  6. Thank you for keeping us updated . . . .I've waited and prayed all day for you. Now my prayers can be more specific. You both are an inspiration!

  7. Nancy and Mike, we are thinking of you across the world! I admire your faith and strength--it's amazing how Heavenly Father shapes us to endure trials we previously believed would be impossible to overcome.
    Love, Lori Jones Hedquist

  8. Amen. God's blessings.
