A tiring day...

Mike does have some new malignancy around the cavity where his first tumor was removed. Obviously the current chemo treatments are not working. A new chemo drug was approved July, 2009. We will try that course. Mike will get infusions once every 2 weeks. The doc said there aren't bad side effects like with most chemo. All we can do is hope for the best, whatever that might be. We think the doctors and staff at the cancer center are the best there are anywhere in the world. We will not be going elsewhere for any treatments. Right now this is cutting edge.

What a comfort it was to have all of our kids with us today when we visited the doctor. I absolutely love our children as adults. They are all amazing. Hannah stayed an extra night and will fly out early in the morning. She is with Ty and Kim tonight so she will be closer to the airport.

Thank all of you for your prayers in our behalf. We know a kind wise Heavenly Father is listening to each and every one of them. We are buoyed up by your faith.

  1. As much as I know you hated giving this not so great news, you did counter it with yet another positive with the option for a new treatment. Thanks for comforting us with this news and these updates. I know it has to be really hard to do, but we do appreciate knowing where you are with everything. I'm really sorry that the news wasn't better, but I know you are all doing what you can for each other and sometimes that's all any of us can do. Our thoughts are with you and I know that you will find the strength you need to get through all of this. Take care & please let us help you all with anything you can think of...

  2. It is always good to have hope. At least the medical team is on top of things and with the new treatment options - the sun is sure to come out tomorrow (even if it is absolutley freezing)
Keep plugging along - thinking of you guys!

  3. Nancy,
Thank god for research and discovery,so you have yet another option. And you're right, this is really the best place to recover among people who love you both. As always, SusanT.

  4. Still thinking of you and offering many prayers in your behalf!

    Dan and Kelsey

  5. You are blessed with a wonderful family....such strength and faith! Onward.....

  6. I couldn't agree more about our Cancer Center at BMH. God bless you all.

  7. Nancy & Mike, We are in this with you all of the way. We will continue praying and loving. We are your family and want to keep informed.
We also know (as we've been reminded) that there is a God and He knows what He is doing, so in spite of it all, Heavenly Father is in charge, and we thank Him for You, Mike and the incredible grandkids, ANDY, TYLER and HANNAH as well as the many FRIENDS who have kept you lifted up in love and prayer. 8. Nancy and Mike, you have such wonderful friends who reply to your messages with thoughts that I am unable to put into words. I really appreciate the time that you spend writing your blog and thank you for doing it. As soon as one of my sisters or myself sees a new message we let each other know. You are in our prayers.
