  1. Nancy,
Thinking of you today. Hope you and the kids are having some good family time with the snow and all making it hard to move forward this weekend. May you find the peace and comfort you so deserve. The past nine months have been a long journey for you and you deserve to have a rest now. I wish that your journey could have had a different ending but you as a care giver, wife and mother did an awesome job. Mike always knew he was the love of your life and you were the love of his life...what a great accomplishment for the two of you. Let me know when you are ready for some Nancy time, I am here when you need me.

    love and hugs to all,
    Barb

  7. Nancy and Kids,
Hard to beleive for me, I seem to be running out of words to say, as I read from all of your special friends and family, they have gracefully covered it all. As always, I am here if you have a need....SusanT

  8. Dear Nancy and Family,
I feel so sad for all you had to go through. If only passing to the next life were a little smoother (and painless). My prayers are with you.

  9. So sorry not to be in state to attend Mike's memorial service. I am sure there will be wonderful things said about his optimism and exceptional community achievements. I add my thanks and accolades - Mike was such a mentor. His first appearance at Second Harvest Food Bank of East Central Indiana those many years ago came with a huge smile and such assurance. When he embraced our mission, he became a tremendous advocate for our work and our organization. Mike could really stand beside you, couldn't he?! During the past 3 years he faithfully attended our campaign meetings helping us to raise the money necessary to move to a new facility. He donated his time to design our new offices - yet to be built but getting closer. He cared so much about so many! What a big heart! Thank you to Nancy and the family for sharing the treasure of Mike Ellis with the community. We are all so sorry to see him leave and so sorry that the leave-taking was so difficult. But so very thankful that he was a part of our lives.

  10. I hadn't checked this blog in a week, and when I did tonight, my heart sank. Your family has inspired us from the beginning of this challenge and we will always have great memories of Mike and the great man that he was. How much he will be missed and loved by those of us who knew him, even briefly. Reading the comments, you have so many people who loved you, whom you inspired each day of this journey. We love you and are praying for you and your family during this difficult time. We wish we could be at the service to give you a big hug.

  11. Dear Nancy and family,
We send our condolences and apologize & regret that we will not be able to make it to Muncie for the services. Our thoughts and prayers will definitely be with you this week, and will continue for some time to come. I mentioned your family's struggles and great examples in my testimony here in Paris this Sunday, and many were touched. How blessed are we who have known and been served by your great husband/father. What a blessing it is to know of life beyond mortality! Thanks again for your testimonies and examples. May God bless you.
